SME success stories pioneered the business from Zero 2 trillion Rupiah

The founder of the e-commerce company is going to share local tips to success. He told me about the ups and downs pioneered small business with a capital of only zero Rupiah until now finally managed to make it a company with a value of 2 trillion Rupiah.

These success stories told by Zaky Ahmad, founder and CEO of Bukalapak.com when giving public lectures about small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to the students on the campus of ITB, Bandung.

Bukalapak derived from a project undertaken by Zaky with his college friend, so that they are accustomed to making all kinds of applications to met clients order.

They had a desire to create something that is made from scratch, then developed and built one after another, until it becomes large and magnificent as the current Bukalapak which gets a giant capital injection.

"Starting with the capital of zero Rupiah, just by skill-founder, and became a full time struggle. To finally get funding hundreds of billions is not easy. If it is valuated, Bukalapak can now reach 2 trillion Rupiah," he said.

According to Zaky, Bukalapak starts at the right moment. The e-commerce market in 2010 is still open wide, still very few businessmen who play, so his progress quite rapidly.

From initially just have 10,000 visitors per day, the next year into 50,000 visitors per day, then get 200,000 visitors per day and now currently visited by 500,000 visitors per day.

Zaky had ideals to make the site which is currently ranked 24 one day becoming the number one e-commerce in Indonesia. It is not an easy job, because its competitors who are in the top 7 in Indonesia were from Silicon Valley, United States.

"For example in China, the first and second positions controlled by the local Chinese websites that is Baidu and Alibaba. Indonesia local website has the same chance to be number one," Zaky said.

Nugroho Herucahyono, CTO and co-founder of Bukalapak also strongly supported steps to render the company Zaky local e-commerce's SME empowerment as a container to achieve its goal to become number one.

"Moreover, many sellers who hang on to the sale of its products only in the Bukalapak.com, so a lot of people who hang on to the continuity of his business in our sites," said Nugroho wrote by Detik.
