This nut is part of joint exercises US Marines along with Indonesian Navy personnel in Banongan Beach, Sitobondo last weekend (8/8).

In this joint exercise, soldiers from the two countries also do climbing with soft drink as the gift. Around 676 troops participated in joint exercises for four days.

Panjat Pinang is one tradition that many do in various regions in Indonesia where the participant tries to climb a pole made from hulled nut trees and covered with grease or oil to become very slippery with various gift on top, especially on the anniversary of Indonesia's independence on August 17.
